OPTIVUS MUSIC

Optivus Music is a nonprofit, UK based record label created to empower, amplify, and celebrate the voices of disabled & neurodivergent artists and producers creating dance music.

We are whole-heartedly committed to removing systemic barriers for disabled & neurodivergent artists in the music industry. Creator of Optivus - Nick AKA @ridproductions - acquired a life changing brain injury back in 2011, which means we come from a place of lived experience, understanding and a deep passion to move things forward.

We are working HARD, plonking a big, fat spotlight on the array of immensely talented disabled & neurodivergent artists out there. Optivus aims to not only promote accessibility, but to educate the masses and create a beautiful, thriving community along the way.

OUR STORY

At the start of every financial year, we will be choosing a different charity to donate the label profits of that year to. To launch the label, Nick has picked a charity very to his heart: Child Brain Injury Trust.

Child Brain Injury Trust raises money for children who have acquired brain injuries, and their families. They are a fantastic charity who do not get any government funding. Instead, they look to raise income from not only grant making Trusts and Foundations, but also from supporters fundraising efforts.

Help support the disabled & neurodivergent artists on our roster and our charity of choice by buying, sharing streaming our music today. Thank you.

INDUSTRY TESTIMONIALS

LAURIE CHARLESWOTH (KOOL FM/RINSE)

‘‘
Optivus is super important to not only shine a light on disabled and neurodivergent artists in dance music, but to create routes in that are tailor-made to the individual. They want to see people win. Nick also leads from experience, which means he truly understands, and most importantly, he cares. What they are doing is incredible and I am so excited to see the impact of their work.’’

Tyke (Playaz)

‘‘What I believe makes Optivus Music so important is that it provides a platform for people with disabilities to grow, and that the very act of creating Optivus Music is itself a brave, selfless, and hard-working thing to do - something everyone can learn from.’’
